The Craft
Made by Hand in Kilifi
Each Shadow Lantern is woven from natural raffia fibre by artisans in Kilifi, on Kenya's coast. The frame is carved from Mborea wood, a sustainably harvested hardwood prized for its warm grain and durability.
No two lanterns are identical. The slight variations in the weave are the mark of a human hand, and the reason the shadow patterns feel alive when lit.
From raw material to finished lantern, every step happens within the community.
